Abstract

Kokedama is an art of planting from Japan with element of beauty. Kokedama is a form of biopot with function as planting media and a place to grow a plant. There no many Indonesian has familiar with kokedama techniques and currently the demand for kokedama production training is getting high interest from the public. Planting media as an important thing that must be considered so that plants can grow optimally. Meanwhile, the standard of planting media in kokedama technique has not been found. The purpose of this research is to find the most ideal composition of kokedema planting media for Sansevieria. This research was conducted indoors by using a completely randomized design (CRD) one factor namely the planting media. The result of this research that sphagnum moss was the most ideal planting media for Sansevieria. Alternative planting media to substitute of sphagnum moss with the same performance was the composition of the soil, manure, husk charcoal, and coconut fiber (1: 2: 1: 1).
