Abstract

There are three types of O2 supply disturbances leading to tissue hypoxia: ischemia, hypoxemia and anemia.1 Ischemia means critically reduced blood flow. Upon reduction of blood flow the oxygen concentration in venous blood is decreased leading to ischemic anoxia. During ischemia the washout of catabolic end-products is also decreased.KeywordsPurine MetabolismPurine Nucleoside PhosphorylaseHypoxia ToleranceHigh Energy PhosphateAdenosine ProductionThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
