Abstract
Field experiments were conducted to explore the possibilityof improving the productivity of organic cabbage byevaluating the response of different organic nutrientschedules comprising of enriched farmyard manure, vermicompost and poultry manure as basal and top-dressingduring winter season of 2017-18 and 2018-19 at UBKV,Pundibari, West Bengal. The experiment consisted of 8treatment combinations and laid out in randomized blockdesign with three replications. The results revealed that theuse of Azophos biofertilizer enriched poultry manure (5t/ha)as basal along with 2-times top dressing (1 t/ha) at 30 and 45days after transplanting significantly increased the headyield (1.64 kg/plant and 42.76 t/ha) along with superior headquality in terms of maximum vitamin A (126.01 IU/100 g),vitamin C (44.02 mg/100 g) and TSS (6.50 oBrix) of organiccabbage. The treatment combination comprised of Azophosbiofertilizer enriched vermicompost (2.5 t/ha) and enrichedpoultry manure (2.5 t/ha) as basal along with 2 times topdressing of both (0.5 t/ha) at 30 and 45 days aftertransplanting proved to be the second-best option fororganic cabbage cultivation of the region.
