Abstract
Abstract Reflection of an intense electromagnetic wave pulse is considered from a class of strongly nonlinear magnetic media. It is shown that almost all the incident energy of the electromagnetic pulse can be reflected, and the polarization of the reflected wave will be rotated like magneto-optical Kerr effect. Also constitutive equations for those media are obtained by analytical solution of Maxwell equations. Such media can be of interest as a power limiters against powerful laser pulses.
