Abstract
Objective: To investigate the drug utilization of patients with respiratory tract infection,in order to provide references for rational use of drugs.Methods:Cross-sectional survey was used to analyze the drug utilization in patients diagnosed as respiratory tract infection in Emergency and Outpatient Departments in Zhoupu Hospital of Pudong New Area of Shanghai from 8 a.m.on January 25,2011 to 8 a.m.on January 26,2011.Results:The usage rate of antibacterials was highest(662 pieces,86.7%).The prescriptions including combined use of antiviral drugs accounted for 20.3% and the usage rates of non-steroid antiinflammatory agents and Chinese patent medicines were 31.3% and 32.0%,respectively.Conclusion:In the treatment of respiratory tract infection,antibacterials were used too much,and the starting level was high in our hospital.The management of antibacterials utilization needs to be strengthened,and the treatment regimen should be further optimized in the hospital.
