Abstract

Scanning particle beam therapy is an attractive radiation treatment especially due to lower neutron dose and improved target coverage. However, interplay between scanning patterns and inter-field organ motion may results in suboptimal dose within target volume. A simple off-line correction technique for uniform scanning proton beam (USPB) delivery to compensate the interplay between scanning patterns and respiratory motion is investigated.
