Abstract
Abstract Although a duplication cyst of the alimentary tract is rare, it can occur anywhere in the alimentary tract. The inner epithelial lining of a duplication cyst mostly consists of the gastrointestinal epithelium. However, studies have reported that foregut duplication cysts can have a respiratory epithelium lining. It is rare, however, that respiratory epithelium covers midgut duplication cysts. We herein report an enteral duplication lined with respiratory epithelium, occurring in an 18-month-old girl. Our study highlights the need for more studies about the embryonic development of duplication cysts are needed.
