Abstract

Background: AIIMS Rajkot is an upcoming institute with super-specialty services in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat state, where OPD services commenced on 31st December 2021. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data of patients attending Pulmonary Medicine OPD, AIIMS Rajkot, from 1st January 2022 to 31st December 2022 with respect to the disease pattern of patients. Results: A total of 426 patients attended Pulmonary Medicine OPD, contributing to 1140 visits. Among the disease pattern, more than 50% of patients presented with obstructive airway disease, followed by interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) in 3% of cases. Patients with post-tuberculosis sequelae, post-COVID sequelae, and Pulmonary Tuberculosis (PTB) were lesser in number. Patients with diseases like Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), Lung cancer, Bronchiectasis, Pulmonary Artery Hypertension, Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis (ABPA), Scleroderma, Rheumatoid arthritis, Sarcoidosis, NonTuberculous Mycobacterium (NTM) infection, pulmonary Thromboembolism, Pulmonary Hydatid Cyst, and diaphragmatic palsy, were also encountered.
