Abstract

Abstract Resource efficiency indicators (REIs) aimed at supporting operators in their decision-making process are defined for a refinery hydrogen network case study. Two plant specific REIs and three global REIs are presented and studied. Special attention is given to combined REIs for addressing optimal network operation, considering total hydrogen and hydrocarbon loads. Unit specific REIs showcase key features of plants while global REIs highlight network ones. Combined REIs provide a bigger picture than global REIs alone and therefore are more efficient for plant wide operation supervision.
