Abstract

We study the physical layer security for short packet communications in wireless powered internet of things networks. The problem of optimizing the packet error rate and the packet length for maximizing the total secrecy throughput is investigated. Since the problem is challenging to solve due to its non-convexity, we develop a low-complexity algorithm based on the relaxation method and the block coordinate descent method to obtain a suboptimal solution. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. It is shown that the proposed algorithm achieves similar performance as compared to the optimal solution based on the exhaustive search, and outperforms various baseline algorithms in existing literature.
