Abstract

In the first of a new series of articles, Peter Ellis will examine the ethics of resource allocation. In its sister piece on page 44, he will then look at the principles relating to this aspect of health-care provision in the context of kidney care. This approach, where ethical theory is examined and then applied to a topic pertinent to renal medicine, will be repeated in subsequent papers in the series.
