Abstract
In this paper, we report a continuous-wave mode-locked Ho:YAP laser for the first time to our knowledge. Mode-locked pulse was produced by using an acousto-optic modulator. A 1.91-μm Tm-fiber laser as the pump source, at incident pump power of 25.9 W, the maximum output power of 2.87 W at 2117.8 nm was achieved in continuous-wave mode-locked regime. Pulse as short as 254.8 ps was obtained at repetition frequency of 81.52 MHz. In addition, the beam quality factor M2 value of 1.6 was obtained.
