Abstract
Dissociative attachment processes in low-energy electron-molecule collisions are very important for the electron kinetics in gas discharges. The attachment reduces the number of free electrons and decreases electron conductivity. Dissociative attachment to chlorine-containing molecules is of special importance in many applications, particularly in excimer lasers, plasma etching and optically controlled diffuse discharge switches.
