Abstract

In this letter, we theoretically investigate how the surface manipulation method can be used for the resonant excitation of the surface plasma waves (SPWs) in the new proposed dielectric core-plasma antenna with any arbitrary structure parameters. Results show the high efficiency of terahertz TM mode/SPW conversion for a “typical” plasma antenna even up to more than 50 percent. We emphasize that the present results for the new proposed experimental accessible structures can be used in many laboratory applications such as generation of high-order harmonics, designing a new laser frequency splitter as well as photodetectors, and so on.
