Abstract

The resonance transitions in the Pd VII spectrum have been studied in the 190–353 Å region for the first time. Spectra were obtained on a 3 m 3600 lines mm−1 grazing incidence spectrograph with a triggered vacuum spark as a source of excitation. Three hundred and seventy five lines of 4d4–4d35p transitions were identified with the use of parametric calculation based on the orthogonal operator technique. All but the highest 01S0 level in the4d4 ground configuration and 102 out of 110 possible levels of the 4d35p excited configuration were determined. Using the Cowan code calculations, 80 lines of the 4d4–(4d34f+4p54d5) transition array were classified. Twenty-six levels of the mixed 4d34f+4p54d5 configurations were located.
