Abstract

Resonance quasi-levels in symmetrical double-barrier structures have been calculated and compared with bound states in quantum well. The relation between the resonance quasi-levels and bound states in corresponding quantum well has been discussed, and the discrepancy between them decreases with the increasing barrier width. The coupling effect between transverse and longitudinal wave vector was evaluated systematically. With the transverse wave vector increasing the quasi-levels depart form the values without considering coupling effect, and vanish at the higher value of longitudinal wave vector. Furthermore, we found that the coupling effect has more influence on the higher energy levels. In the end the visualization of coupling effect was plotted in 3D curves.
