Abstract

In order to study resonance problem and harmonic analysis of dielectric barrier discharge (DBD), a high voltage and frequency alternating current (AC) power supply and the distributed parameter circuit model which consists of high frequency high voltage transformer and DBD load, are analyzed. Based the Fourier forms of the voltage and current, the current harmonic and the phenomenon of resonant state is studied, and also experimental studies prove the existence of the resonant state. The research results show that a gradually reduced maximum of resonant current appears when the switching frequency is equal to one time, three times, or five times and etc of the resonant frequency. In discharge process, with the voltage gradually increased, the resonant frequency gradually decreases.
