Abstract

It is found that a magnetic field turns on intersubband electron relaxation as the Landau levels of the spatial quantization subbands of a single heterojunction scan the Fermi level. The observed steady decrease in intersubband relaxation time as the magnetic field increases is attributed to the addition of electron-phonon interaction to electron-electron interaction.
