Abstract

The changing world paradigms and the changes / transformations in artistic productions becoming unavoidable and the convergence of different disciplines form the basis of the technic practice of today's art. The fact that the artists put forth the possibilities of all kinds of materials and techniques within the limits of their originality and freedom reveals the diversity in the field of art. In such a diversity, artists create images belonging to their era and guide the art. In the context of this problematic direction, every female image in the historical process bears the traces of the values, beliefs, culture, technology and lifestyle of the period to which she belongs. Art, which cannot be considered independent of society, transfers every cultural parameter to its images and causes the perspectives presented to the viewer to be shaped. For this reason, it is possible to read the perspective of female of that period from the images of female encountered in art history. This study focuses on post-nineteenth century art practices that have been repeatedly shaped by the possibilities of technique in the context of the female image in art in the historical process. Accordingly, an analysis of the transformation of artistic practices and changes in the female image dating back to the present day have been made and examined. In this study, Zeliha Kayahan's approach to the connection made with the female image in her individual productions using contemporary art practices and the technique she used is presented.
