Abstract

This paper explores the potential of feminist poststructural pedagogies for developing understandings of resistance in the adult classroom. Three examples are offered: a pedagogy of the unconscious; a pedagogy of the unthought; and a pedagogy for critical literacy. The paper concludes with a discussion of the seemingly paradoxical nature of resistance when it is viewed in terms of liberatory philosophies such as those found within feminism and adult education.
