Abstract

1. The difference in the structure of steel through the depth induced by incomplete hardenability of large rotors has a strong effect on the resistance to crack propagationap and ductile-brittle temperature T50, but has a negligible effect on the work of crack initiation and the standard mechanical properties. 2. To determine the resistance to fracture of large parts it is expedient to use samples with lateral notches.
