Abstract

SUMMARYAssays in 1969 on larvae of Panonychus ulmi from English apple, orchards showed an average 4x resistance to binapacryl after three to five years' use and, except for one population, a low degree of cross‐ resistance to dinocap. In contrast, there was no resistance to dinocap after four to ten years' use of this material. A resistant strain, after prolonged selection with binapacryl in the laboratory, showed 16x resistance to binapacryl and 2x cross‐resistance to dinocap in assays on adult female mites.
