Abstract
Resistance of selected accessions of bermuda grass, Cynodon spp., to damage caused by adult Prosapia bicincta (Say) resulted partly from preferential feeding and partly from tolerance to the toxin injected with the insect’s saliva. One accession, Georgia Accession no. 239, shown to be a non preferred host for feeding by 1st-instar fall armyworm larvae, Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith), in other investigations is reported to be a non preferred host of adult spittle bugs.
