Abstract

This paper presents the result of studying adaptive capacity of local community living the three coastal areas of Ben Tre, Vietnam and their expectations to government other organizations on climate change impacts. The result indicates that adap capacity of local community depends on different types of livelihoods, education le gender and financial resources, include: (i) learning to live with change and uncertainty; (ii) nurturing diversity for resilience; (iii) combining different types of knowledge for learning; and creating opportunity for self-organization towards social-ecological sustainability that help community to strengthen their adaptive capacity to climate change impact.
