Abstract
Three formulations of encapsulated Rabon® (2-chloro-1-2,4,5-trichlorophenyl) vinyl dimethyl phosphate were fed mixed with poultry mash to laying hens for a treatment period of 14 days. The dosages administered were 50, 100, 400, and 800 ppm of actual Rabon. Samples of manure collected on the 14th day were analyzed by gas chromatography using an electron capture detector, and amounts of actual Rabon were determined. On seeding the manure from the Rabon-fed hens with larvae of Musca domestica L., excellent control of susceptible and organophosphate-resistant flies was obtained.
