Abstract
Let 𝒩0 be the class of all finitely generated torsion-free nilpotent groups, and let A and B be residually 𝒩0-groups. It is proved that the generalized free product with cyclic amalgamation of groups A and B is a residually finite soluble group and is a virtually residually finite p-group for any prime p.
