Summary

Introduction

It is important to understand and assess the attitudes of residents toward tourism (Lee, 2013). The community perceptions of tourism can affect the local residents’ behavior toward visitors to their region and the events held locally. Investigating these perceptions is vital (Getz & Page, 2016). Event planners and developers who are aware of the residents’ perceptions of tourism and its impacts on their community can proactively address their concerns and alleviate any problems in a timely manner. This allows for setting applicable policies and taking action immediately, optimizing benefits and diminishing difficulties associated with the tourism industry
