Abstract

Abstract The repopulation of the countryside has been accompanied by a debate about the nature of the processes involved. Much of the debate has been at the macro‐level: this paper addresses the ‘clean break or more of the same’ debate at the micro‐level of analysis for Northern Ireland. The main findings of the study are that the numerical importance of specific flows has changed and that the mobility patterns responsible differ in different rural locations.
