Abstract

RATIONALE: Exposure to traffic-related air pollution has been associated with asthma and respiratory symptoms in children. However, the effects of lifetime exposures are not well-characterized. We aimed to use geographic indicators of traffic as surrogate measures of exposure to traffic-related air pollution and to characterize associations with asthma-related outcomes among New York City children through age 5 years.
