Abstract
The present paper is the outcome of the experience of residents of the multi professional residency program from the Mental Health Nucleus at the University of the State of Bahia (UNEB), specifi cally in the residency program in therapeutics, implemented in the health district of Itapagipe, Salvador, Bahia. The experience began at the Center for Psychosocial Healthcare (CAPS II) in the aforementioned district, which, in planning the actions to be developed, gave priority to the use of the residential program as a means of developing a strategy of care, since it was considered that an initiative of this type would successfully redefi ne the existence of the individual in the community. The main resources used in the process of approximating the actors involved included listening, bonding, and the use of body language, music and the streets. The experience gained from the residency program in therapeutics confi rmed that the initiative represents fertile ground for promoting citizenship and autonomy; however, the issue remains controversial in that various questions have been raised to which at present there are no answers. On the other hand, the experience is also revealing, since it constitutes a potential for reinventing the life of the individual while considering all the controversies raised during this strategy.

Summary
A partir da relação de confiança conquistada no decorrer do processo foi possível percorrer alguns espaços da rua com os moradores. A Biblioteca Pública também foi outro espaço que começou a ser explorado pelos moradores a convite dos residentes e de outros profissionais do CAPS, onde algumas vezes eles foram para assistir a filmes e ouvir contos, numa atividade que envolveu também usuários do CAPS, técnicos, residentes, crianças da comunidade e estudantes de pedagogias de uma universidade. Envolvidos com os pressupostos da reforma psiquiátricas e crentes da possibilidade de autonomia dos sujeitos, percebemos que também, ainda carregamos alguns preconceitos acerca da “loucura”, sendo importante reconhecer tais crenças colocando-as em questão, para que possam ser desmistificadas e assim explorar criativamente outras possibilidades. Podemos constatar que a oportunidade de acompanhar os moradores pelo território nos colocou em situações concretas de possibilidades e limites, onde as teorias puderam nos guiar e outras vezes não foi possível recorre-las, seja pela própria angustia dos acontecimentos, ou ainda por consideração a outros “recursos” como a intuição que emergiram diante do sentimento de impotência. Percebemos que não dá para se aproximar do universo da RT sem ser tocados emocionalmente, sendo necessário se afetar pela totalidade da complexidade do ser humano
