It investigates the legal and policy framework for R&R, the social and economic repercussions on impacted communities, and the attempts to promote sustainable livelihoods and community well-being. In addition, the role of stakeholders, such as the government, project proponents, and civil society groups in defining R&R processes is examined. This research article attempts to improve the efficacy and equity of resettlement and rehabilitation in India by providing insights and recommendations derived from a critical examination.
