Abstract
Petrobras has been producing from more than 400 oil fields in many geologic settings along the eastern Brazilian margin. These reservoirs vary in geometry, size, and internal character. They contain original oil in place of 52.3 billion bbl and total oil reserves of 9.8 billion bbl; about 28% are in deep water (400–1000 m) and 45% in ultradeep water (over 1000 m).
