Abstract

The most important argument in this paper establishes that there is wisdom in justifying reservation for structurally disadvantaged groups. However, one notices that in Indian context, reservation running concurrently with vote bank consideration and becoming a Political Password, all Political Parties have been using this policy as a key for keeping intact their vote banks, which creating a feeling of disturbance and dissatisfaction among the people, help them to realize the sole cause of the discrimination, and again creating social imbalance. In today's time reservation has become a bane for people rather than a boon. It has been extended time to time. Now the time has come to stop further extension and instead start the process of rolling it back.
