Abstract

The actual problem of duly revealing of mechanical strained sections of communication lines with dispersion-shifted optical fibers is considered in this paper. The results of experimental examination of the Brillouin backscattering spectrum in dispersion-shifted optical fibers are presented. The received results confirmed a possibility to detect problem sections and estimations of the dispersion-shifted optical fiber strain degree on the basis of the Brillouin reflectometry method. Also have revealed the certain problems of analysis of dispersion-shifted optical fiber.
