Abstract
AbstractThe anaesthetic properties of a number of alkoxy‐amino‐nitrobenzenes belonging to all ten possible types have been studied with the aid of three different methods: the rabbit cornea test, the frog muscle sciatic nerve test and the goldfish test. The data obtained thus relate to surface anaesthesia, block anaesthesia and general (central) anaesthesia. These data are discussed from a purely chemical point of view. The pharmacological part of the work and a discussion of the data from a pharmacological point of view will be published elsewhere.
