Abstract

Integrity is an important concept for an understanding of the domains of public values including research, governance, and administration, etc. Research integrity is a core value or principle that a researcher must know and adhere to in the entire process of conducting research and is closely related to the public value domain. Therefore, it is crucial for researchers to accurately understand the specific contents of research integrity required at each stage of the research process. In this paper, I dealt with two main things. First, the meaning of public value and the three types of research activity (RCR, RM, and QRP), and the relationship between research integrity and public value were reviewed. Second, the responsibilities that researchers need to know and implement at each stage (research planning stage, research implementation stage, presentation, and maintenance stage of research results) were examined.

Key Words: research integrity, public value, responsible conduct of research (RCR); research misconduct (RM), questionable research practice(QRP), publication ethics, conflict of interest (COI)
