Abstract

Thalassemia is a group of common monogenic and hemolytic anemia. Pregnancy combined with Thalassemia can result in pregnancy complications, such as fetal growth restriction, premature delivery, and intrauterine fetal death. Thalassemia also can cause maternal complications, such as thrombo-embolism, heart disease and endocrine disorders. Therefore, effective prenatal screening, diagnosis and treatment of Thalassemia should be strengthened to improve perinatal outcomes.
