Abstract

Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is an important treatment for malignant hematological diseases. Because the limited number of human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-matched related donors(MRD), unrelated cord blood transplantation (UCBT) and unrelated bone marrow transplantation (UBMT)/unrelated allogeneic peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (UPBSCT) are all important types of allo-HSCT. Although there are no randomized controlled studies about these three transplantation modes around the world, there are a lot of retrospective studies comparing UCBT and UPBSCT/UBMT. This paper summarizes these research results to guide transplantation schemes selection for patients with hematologic malignancies. Key words: Cord blood stem cell transplantation; Bone marrow transplantation; Peripheral blood stem cell transplantation; Unrelated donors; Hematologic neoplasms
