Abstract
Glaucoma,diabetic retinopathy,age-related macular degeneration,retinitis pigmentosa,optic atrophy, et al, lead to neurogenic blindness, for which there is no effective therapy yet.A retinal prosthesis implant has become the most successful prosthesis technology among all kinds of visual restorations developed so far.At the same time, it has also attracted the greatest number of researchers.The retinal prosthesis could develop into a clinical restoration technology for neurogenic blindness in the future after a great number of experts from both the medical aud engineering fields collaborate.
