Abstract
Laser additive manufacturing (LAM) technology is one of the most representative of advanced manufacturing technology, and one of the most critical technology, is currently a hot research at home and abroad. This paper mainly introduces the forming principle, characteristics and research status of two typical LAM technologies--selective laser melting (SLM) technology and laser cladding deposition (LCD) technology. Moreover, some application examples of LAM technology are listed, and its future development trend is discussed.
