Abstract

Research from the Pew Research Center suggests that there is still a digital divide between individuals who have a disability and individuals who do not have a disability. Pew found that 81% of adults without a disability report owning a desktop or laptop computer. However, only 62% of adults with disabilities report computer ownership. Additionally, there was a 16% gap in smartphone ownership (72% of individuals with disabilities versus 88% of individuals without disabilities).
