Abstract
Background Brain injury is a major cause of death and disability in patients after cardiac arrest(CA). Numerous studies have shown that the acupuncture had a significant role in the cerebral protection. Acupuncture effect also has been confirmed on enhancing the success rate of resuscitation, effectively alleviating cerebral injury after cardiopulmonary resuscitation, improving the neurological prognosis in animal experiments and clinical trials. Objective The review aims to summarize the progress of brain protection after CA use of acupuncture. Content In this paper, a brief review that will be presented based on the researches of acupuncture as treatment for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and brain injury in recent years. Trend Providing a theoretical basis for the improvement and development of acupuncture on cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
