Abstract
Magnetic memory testing technology is a non-contact nondestructive method that can diagnose stress concentrations and microscopic defects in ferromagnetic materials, which has been applied in equipment inspection in many industries. However, the current research on magnetic memory method is scattered and lacks a systematic summary. Therefore, this paper systematically reviews the progress of magnetic memory research in the past 20 years in terms of theoretical studies on the coupling of force-magnetic effects, factors influencing weak magnetic signals, defect identification and quantification studies. This review focuses on summarizing the effects of ambient magnetic field, initial remanent magnetic state and stress load on magnetic signals, and proposes the current development bottleneck of this technology and the future development direction, which is of reference to researchers of magnetic memory nondestructive testing.
