Abstract

Background The acute acute lung injury (ALI)/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a common clinical disorder characterised by injury to the alveolar epithelial and endothelial barriers of the lung, acute inflammation, and protein rich pulmonary edema leading to acute respiratory failure. The pathogenesis is complicated,it has not been fully elucidated so far.Ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI) refers to the process of applying ventilator jointly lead to pulmonary edema due to mechanical ventilation and many other factors of primary lung.It has been considered that the integrity of the alveolar membrane damage and permeability changes is the fundamental reason.Adherent junction (AJ) and tight junction (TJ) are the important structures of maintenance of epithelial barrier and permeability, and the role of TJ is more important.TJ protein includes Zo-1,claudin,occludin and so on.Objective It is of great significance to clarify the effects of TJ protein occludin in VILI.Content This review mainly discusses the research progress of TJ protein occludin in VILI.Trend Realized the role of TJ protein occludin in VILI,then provided a theoretical basis for early prevention and treatment of ventilator-induced pulmonary edema and lung injury in clinical. Key words: Acute lung injury;  Ventilator-induced lung injury;  Tight junction;  Occludin
