Abstract

Inadvertent perioperative hypothermia (IPH) is one of the most common complications of perioperative patients, and induces some other complications such as cardiovascular adverse events, chills, blood coagulation dysfunction, infections of incision with high probability. It is also associated with a substantial economic burden, primarily due to delay of recovery and prolonged hospitalization. Therefore, previous assessment and identification of IPH risk factors is crucial to reduce the incidence of IPH and its adverse effects. This paper will review the following three aspects of IPH’s risk assessment: high-risk groups, tools and effect. Key words: Perioperative; Hypothermia; Risk assessment; Review
