Abstract

Acute pulmonary embolism is the third most common cardiovascular disease, next only to hypertension and coronary heart disease, and is characterized by complex clinical symptoms and high fatality rate.To diagnose and stratify the risk accurately and rapidly can help us to choose the right therapy, which could improve the prognosis of pulmonary embolism.In recent years, there have been many studies about the relationship between red cell distribution width and acute pulmonary embolism.This paper analyzes the domestic and foreign studies about red cell distribution width in acute pulmonary embolism from the diagnosis, risk stratification and prognosis of acute pulmonary embolism, aimed to provide more clinical direction for further research.
