Abstract

<p indent=0mm> Nanocomposite hydrogels (NC hydrogels) have great application and attract much attention as artificial cartilage repair materials. It is an ideal scaffold material for cartilage repair due to its structural similarity to natural chondrocyte extracellular matrix (ECM), good mechanical properties and stimulating response. In this review, the latest research progress of NC hydrogels for artificial cartilage is introduced in detail, which is classified by their components. At the same time, the new molding methods and application of NC hydrogel scaffolds are summarized. Besides, the challenges and prospects of the clinical application of NC hydrogels are discussed.
