Abstract

MicroRNAs are highly evolutionarily conserved non-coding 18-25-nucleotide-length ribonucleic acids, which can regulate the key target gene expression at a post-transcription level. Recently, a great number of studies have uncovered that miR-761 is involved in the division, fusion and synthesis of mitochondria and plays a crucial suppressive or promotive role in different kinds of carcinomas. Besides, miR-761 is closely related to cardiovascular disease, hippocampal neuron shaping and development. This article reviews the research progress of miR-761. Key words: MicroRNA-761; Mitochondria; Tumor
