Abstract

Signaling pathways of growth factors and their receptors not only diversify the biological behaviors in normal cells, but also play important roles in regulation of tumor cell proliferation, differentiation, transformation and migration. Aberrant expression of insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R) has been observed in multiple hematological malignancies including multiple myeloma, lymphoma and leukemia. The existence of IGF-1R signaling pathway is a potential therapeutic target of hematological malignancies. This review summarizes recent findings of the aberrant expression of IGF-1R and therapeutic intervention in hematological malignancies. Key words: Insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor; Leukemia; Multiple myeloma; Lymphoma
