Abstract

Sex determining factor (SRY) is on the short arm of the Y chromosome,and encodes a transcription factor containing a DNA-binding domain characteristic of some high mobility group proteins (HMG box ).SRY protein plays important roles in initiating male sex determination and regulating motor behaviors in brain.The mutation within the sry gene may affect protein function,causing failure of testicular development and other diseases.This paper presented a review of the mechanism of sry gene and SRY-related diseases.
